Top 5 Android Music and Podcasts Apps in Ecuador Q1 2022

The first quarter of 2022 saw interesting trends in the performance of top music and podcast apps on the Android platform in Ecuador. Here’s a closer look at the weekly downloads, active users, and revenue for the top 5 apps during this period, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Spotify: Music and Podcasts had a strong presence, with weekly downloads steadily increasing from around 20.8K at the start of the quarter to a peak of approximately 27.9K by mid-March. However, downloads saw a notable drop to 21.2K in the final week of March. The app's weekly active users fluctuated slightly but remained robust, starting at 1.92M and peaking at about 2M in mid-February, ending the quarter at around 1.93M.

YouTube Music experienced consistent download growth throughout the quarter. Starting with 7.1K downloads, it ended Q1 with 8.7K. Active users also increased steadily from 618K to 668K by the end of March.

Make Money: Play & Earn Cash witnessed a decline in downloads over the quarter. Downloads started at 6.5K but dropped to 3.4K by the last week of March. The app's active users followed a similar trend, decreasing from 46.4K to 33.5K over the same period.

Shazam: Find Music & Concerts had relatively stable weekly downloads, beginning at 5.3K and fluctuating slightly to end at 5K. The number of active users saw a slight decline from 123K to 105K over the quarter.

Lastly, Descargar Música Mp3 Gezdovnto showed a mixed performance. Weekly downloads started at 4.3K, peaked at 6.1K in late January, and then fell to 3.8K by the end of March. Active users, however, showed a positive trend, growing from 9.9K to 19.9K throughout the quarter.
